The Tuck Difference Catalyzes Historic Support

By Tuck Communications

The Tuck Difference: The Campaign for Tomorrow’s Wise Leaders has inspired historic engagement and support across the Tuck community since its public launch in April 2018. To date the school has raised $181.7 million toward a campaign goal of $250 million, and already its impact can be felt.

Vital new investments in the people, programs, and places that make Tuck unique; transformative gifts for Dean’s Priorities; and Tuck’s continued, distinctive strength in annual giving are advancing Tuck’s mission and helping to secure its legacy for future generations of wise leaders.

People

Attracting and enrolling the most promising students and convening a faculty of the future is essential to Tuck’s educational mission. Funds raised to date are enhancing Tuck’s ability to attract and yield top student talent in an increasingly competitive MBA marketplace while also bolstering support for Tuck’s scholar-educator faculty. “Now more than ever, we depend on scholarships to succeed in a highly competitive marketplace for financially cautious talent,” said Luke Anthony Peña, executive director of admissions and financial aid. “I’m delighted to report that, compared to last year at this time, your support for The Tuck Difference has equipped us to offer 38 percent more scholarship dollars and observe a 16-percent increase in yield on those scholarship dollars.”

Programs

Critical investments in the MBA program and in offerings for pre- and post-MBA learners are making Tuck even more connected to the digital, global, and social forces driving business today. The recent World Government Summit in Dubai, where Tuck students placed first in the prestigious Global Universities Challenge competition, is a case in point. “What a terrific example of how wise leadership is about asking the right questions, building the right teams, and taking the right risks—and winning, too!” said Dean Matthew J. Slaughter.

Places

Funds raised through The Tuck Difference are already being put to work to reinvigorate the Tuck campus and create more spaces that inspire discovery. Among these efforts is a forthcoming project to double the number of study rooms on the second floor of Byrne Hall and equip them with cutting-edge technology. These and other changes will strengthen Tuck’s renowned culture of collaboration and help “create a connected campus that will rival some of the most advanced technology companies in terms of speed,” said Steve Lubrano T’87, executive director of infrastructure and operations.
